To replace today’s substandard housing and build additional units needed by 2025 would require an investment of up to $16 trillion for construction and cost of land.

Sumantra Sen is a senior management executive, with over 25 years of progressive experience in portfolio management and investment advisory at leading financial organizations including Bank of America and ABN AMRO Bank. He is a specialist in Responsible Finance and Impact Investing and has served on the Advisory Board of ASrIA, Asia’s Sustainable Finance platform at Hong Kong. He was Partner at Contrarian Vriddhi Fund, an early stage investor. In recent assignments, he continues to engage with development institutions, government agencies, investors and businesses in advancing best practices in ESG and Blended Finance Environmental Infrastructure.
He has co-authored published work in responsible investment and sustainable development including ‘Evolutions in Sustainable Investing’ by Wiley Finance and ‘Thirsty Nation’ published by Penguin Random House.

He has coordinated funding for some of the world’s leading energy and infrastructure companies for developing projects in multiple global locations. His professional experience includes multi-billion global projects and transactions with leading multinationals groups as well as many bilateral & multilateral organizations. He is currently also participating in large blockchain and cryptocurrency deals.
